Body Image Therapy

We live in a culture that actively profits from people feeling bad about their bodies. From an early age, we are met with a relentless pressure to look a certain way, to eat in specific ways, and to restrict the amount of physical space we take up. Because these external messages are so pervasive, most of us fully internalize them without ever realizing it.

If you are struggling with your body image, please know this: it is not a sign of vanity, superficiality, or personal failure. It is a completely natural response to an environment designed to make you feel incomplete.

You may find yourself…

  • Changing your outfits over and over, never feeling satisfied

  • Hating the body you live in

  • Comparing yourself to others

  • Avoiding social activities with friends and family because of your body

  • Truly believing that your body is fundamentally flawed or unacceptable

  • Having difficulty being present during intimacy because of body concerns

Our approach

Our approach is explicitly weight-inclusive. We believe that healing your relationship with your body requires stepping entirely outside of the system that damaged it. Because of this, we do not frame recovery as achieving a particular size, weight, or appearance, and we strictly avoid approaches that reinforce diet culture.

Body image concerns exist on a wide spectrum. You might experience occasional waves of negative thoughts about your appearance, or you might be navigating severe, daily distress that disrupts your relationships, mental health, and connection to food. No matter where you fall on this continuum, your pain is valid. You deserve specialized, compassionate care that takes your struggles seriously, care that honors your history without reinforcing the very same toxic messaging that brought you here in the first place. You do not have to fix your body to find peace; instead, we can work together to rewrite the narrative of how you live within it.
